About the Role

The City & County of Swansea is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Social Work Practitioner to join our DoLS Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in upholding the human rights of individuals and ensuring that the Mental Capacity Act is applied effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
  • Line manage and supervise BIA's within the team, providing regular supervision and completing necessary paperwork
  • Engage in performance management monitoring and contribute to the development of the DoLS Team
  • Complete DoLS authorisations and manage the team in the absence of the Team Leader
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to the Mental Capacity Act

Requirements

  • Good understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
