As an ASD Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in fostering an inclusive and supportive educational atmosphere where every student can excel. Your compassion, patience, and commitment to assisting students with special educational needs will be key to your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Impactful Support: Deliver essential assistance to students with ASD, aiding them in overcoming obstacles and achieving their academic goals.
  • Collaborative Approach: Partner with educators and families to develop a customized, supportive learning framework tailored to each student's unique requirements.
  • Facilitate Growth: Aid in the execution of Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) and behavioral strategies, while monitoring and reporting on student progress.
  • Encourage Engagement: Participate in classroom activities and promote both the academic and social development of students with ASD.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Required: Experience working with individuals with ASD or special educational needs.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal abilities to establish rapport with students, educators, and families.
  • Team Player: Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Empathetic Nature: A compassionate and understanding demeanor when engaging with students facing distinct challenges.
Educational Background:
  • Minimum: GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Preferred: Additional certifications in special education or related fields, such as Autism Awareness or First Aid Certification.
Preferred Experience:
  • Relevant Experience: Prior experience in a similar capacity, preferably within an educational context.
  • Understanding of ASD: Knowledge of effective methods for supporting students with ASD and familiarity with educational practices.
Work Environment:
  • Setting: Primarily within an educational institution.
  • Hours: Full-time, with some flexibility as needed.

All stated pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the potential for a permanent role in the future.
