Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Chelmsford. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in the growth and development of children with autism, providing one-on-one support and implementing communication strategies to facilitate meaningful interactions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized support to children with autism, focusing on those with non-verbal or limited verbal abilities.
- Implement communication strategies such as PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and Makaton to enhance interactions.
- Collaborate with our skilled team to create personalized learning plans that cater to each child's unique needs.
- Assist in creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about working with children with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with individuals with autism (ASD), whether through paid positions or personal involvement.
- A background in utilizing communication tools such as PECS and Makaton, particularly with non-verbal or limited verbal children.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of children with SEN.
