Job Summary

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Engineer to lead the process design of a multi-billion-dollar upgrade/expansion project for a major Indian corporation. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Chlor-Alkali facility design and operation, and will be responsible for reviewing and overseeing the process engineering deliverables of the Engineering Contractor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and oversee the process engineering deliverables of the Engineering Contractor, including PFDs, UFDs, HMBs, and equipment sizing and specification.
  • Ensure the delivery of project deliverables, including PFDs, UFDs, HMBs, and equipment sizing and specification.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues and defects in the Engineering Contractor's design.
  • Participate in complex technical discussions with the Owner, Engineering Contractor, licensors, and suppliers to validate technical decisions.
  • Represent the process engineering discipline and assess and challenge the Engineering Contractor's Process Design on behalf of the Owner.
Requirements
  • A recognized Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Considerable experience in Process Engineering, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in EPC and/or operating industry.
  • Excellent understanding of chemical engineering principles, including heat transfer, vapor-liquid equilibria, mass transfer, and thermodynamics.
  • Extensive experience with major regulations and industry codes and standards affecting standard design, quality, or processes.
  • Knowledgeable in process design of equipment, including vessels, columns, heat exchangers, and package process specifications for equipment and control valves.
