As a key member of the UK Controllership team, reporting to the Manager of UK Controllership, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of group, statutory, and regulatory reporting, as well as maintaining the financial integrity of UK legal entities. Your collaboration with various departments, including Audit & Finance, Tax, Treasury, and Compliance, will be essential in supporting diverse legal entity initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the integrity of UK ledgers, oversee the US GAAP month-end close, and verify compliance of entries from Finance and non-Finance teams with relevant standards.
  • Prepare month-end reports based on legal entity Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all inquiries related to legal entities.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements under IFRS (FRS 101) and support the external audit process in collaboration with the Legal Entity Reporting team.
  • Provide insights for regular financial updates and results analysis to legal entity boards and operating committees.
  • Stay informed about all Regulatory and Statutory Reporting requirements, including FRS101/IFRS and the Companies Act.
  • Collaborate closely with Line of Business Segment Controllership teams to ensure coordinated support for business transactions and efficient resource utilization.
  • Prepare and update legal entity forecasts regularly.
  • Complete necessary filings with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Office of National Statistics (ONS).
  • Monitor intercompany transactions and ensure appropriate service fees for accurate transfer pricing.
  • Actively seek opportunities for process enhancements through new systems and tools, elimination of non-value-added tasks, and streamlining procedures.
You will be responsible for maintaining governance over legal entities while coordinating with various teams focused on line of business results. Your ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders on legal entity and accounting requirements will be vital. You will also support the assessment and communication of IFRS implications, ensuring high-quality financial information is delivered within critical deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Qualified accountant with experience in practice or audit.
  • Background in accounting, reporting, and statutory audit.
  • Familiarity with IFRS reporting requirements; knowledge of US GAAP and UK Companies Act is advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS-Office applications and experienced with Oracle.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage workload independently and operate autonomously.
  • Experience in a large company or global matrix environment.
  • Results-oriented with the capability to manage multiple tasks, adhere to strict deadlines, and prioritize effectively.
