The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled doctor to join our team in providing primary care support to paramedics, nurses, and emergency care practitioners within our Emergency Operations Centres. As an Emergency Doctor, you will be responsible for telephone consultations, reviewing and triaging 999 calls, and onward referral to appropriate alternative services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert medical advice and guidance to paramedics, nurses, and emergency care practitioners via telephone consultations
  • Work collaboratively with our clinical team to prioritize and manage emergency calls, ensuring timely and effective patient care
  • Review and triage 999 calls, making informed decisions about the level of care required and onward referral to alternative services
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our ambulance clinicians, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
