Job Summary:

Cobalt Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Service Charge Accountant to join our team. As a Service Charge Accountant, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of service-chargeable properties, ensuring year-end reconciliations are completed in accordance with RICS regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare annual service charge budgets and manage year-end closures, including tenant billing and reconciliations (invoice collation, income and expenditure analysis, journals, and accruals).
  • Oversee a portfolio of service chargeable properties, conducting quarterly service charge analyses and maintaining standardised codes across all properties.
  • Review leases for correct apportionments and manage service charge budgets and calculations, communicating budget variances and fund statements to internal management.
  • Liaise with Asset Managers, Building Managers, and External Management Agents, reviewing and coding invoices, monitoring costs against budgets, and reconciling utility recharges.
  • Enhance service charge process efficiency and respond to tenant queries, ensuring seamless communication and resolution of issues.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience of the Real Estate industry and Service Charge accounting, with a strong understanding of property management systems such as TRAMPS/Bluebox, Qube, Horizon, Yardi, etc.
  • Able to work on their own initiative, be adaptable with good organisational skills, and be able to plan their workload and resolve problems efficiently.
