Job Summary:

The Despatch Operative will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics and supply chain processes. This individual will be responsible for selecting and dispatching stock in a timely manner, adhering to customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Health and Safety: To work in a manner that promotes the health and safety of oneself and others, reporting any health and safety issues to the immediate manager.
  • Reporting Accidents: To report any accidents or near misses to the first aider in the area.
  • Setting a Good Example: To set a good example of behavior, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Quality and Hygiene: To work in a manner that ensures Quality and Hygiene standards are maintained in the production environment.
  • Productivity: To ensure productivity standards are maintained, monitoring and controlling product quality.
  • Environmental Impact: To work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to the processes and procedures operating within the area and across the wider business.
  • Training and Development: To contribute to the department by developing requisite skills in line with the company's competency framework.
  • Line Efficiency: To ensure that line speeds and performances are achieved, with the aim of maximizing line efficiency.
  • Paperwork and Reporting: To ensure that all appropriate paperwork is completed accurately and on time, training staff where required.
  • Training and Support: To assist in the training of new colleagues and provide support as needed.
  • Legislation and Policy: To apply and abide by all aspects of legislation and Company Policy on Health, Safety and Environmental, including RSI, back injuries, and Lifting and Handling.
  • Hygiene and Housekeeping: To monitor hygiene and housekeeping, including the cleanliness and security of all company property.
  • Overtime and Flexibility: To work a proportion of overtime at weekends or end of shift as required, reporting to the Line controller/Manager immediately any occurrence that could affect the finances or security of the company.
