The Despatch Operative will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics and supply chain processes. This individual will be responsible for selecting and dispatching stock in a timely manner, meeting customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health and Safety: To work in a manner that promotes the health and safety of oneself and others, reporting any health and safety issues to the immediate manager.
- Reporting Accidents: To report any accidents or near misses to the first aider in the area.
- Setting a Good Example: To set a good example of behavior, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Quality and Hygiene: To work in a manner that ensures Quality and Hygiene standards are maintained in the production environment.
- Productivity: To ensure productivity standards are maintained, meeting or exceeding targets.
- Flexibility: To work in any area of the business as and when demand requires it, including overtime or working outside core hours.
- Environmental Impact: To work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to the processes and procedures operating within your area and across the wider business.
- Process Understanding: To gain a full understanding of the process in Moy Park, contributing to the department by developing requisite skills in this area.
- Line Efficiency: To ensure that line speeds and performances are achieved, with the aim of maximising line efficiency.
- Product Quality: To monitor, control and report on the product quality of your area, including product entering and leaving the area.
- Labelling: To ensure the correct labelling of all pallets leaving your area.
- Improvement Recommendations: To advise or recommend any improvements to work methods which could improve the productivity, performance, safety of the operation.
- Machinery Operation: To maintain a working understanding of the operation of machinery within your line / area.
- Paperwork: To ensure that all appropriate paperwork is completed accurately and on time, training staff where required.
- Training and Development: To assist in the training of new key colleagues.
- Legislation and Policy: To apply and abide by all aspects of legislation and Company Policy on Health, Safety and Environmental, including RSI, back injuries and Lifting and Handling.
- Hygiene and Housekeeping: To monitor hygiene and housekeeping, including the cleanliness and security of all Company property.
- Overtime and Weekend Work: To work a proportion of overtime at weekend or end of shift as required.
- Reporting Incidents: To report to the Line controller/ Manager immediately any occurrence that could affect the finances or security of the Company or put its name into disrepute.
- Additional Duties: To undertake any other reasonable and relevant duties as required by Management.
