Job Summary:

Simply Commerce Recruitment Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Specialist to join their team of professionals. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing data policies, procedures, and standards that drive business efficiencies and give our organization a competitive edge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Data Governance Policies: Create and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards that align with industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with cross-functional teams to document identified activities for automation in areas such as data quality monitoring, metadata management, or master data management.
  • Build Strong Relationships: Establish strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization to ensure effective communication and collaboration on projects related to master data.
  • Monitor and Measure Compliance: Monitor and measure compliance with data governance policies/standards and identify areas for improvement or enhancement.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering Team: Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to ensure that data pipelines and systems adhere to data governance policies and standards.
  • Use Data Modelling Techniques: Utilize data modelling techniques to identify ways in which an organization can operate more effectively. Gather metadata (TDE, BDE, Lineage).
  • Explore Organizational Operations: Explore how the organization is currently operating via research, collaborating with stakeholders at all levels, collecting quantitative data.
  • Map Out Data Processes: Work with stakeholders across the organization to map out data processes. Understand different solutions, their risks, benefits, and impacts.

Requirements:

  • Deep Understanding of Data Governance Frameworks: In-depth understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK). Familiarity with industry standards and best practices.
  • Experience in Data Governance/Analyst Role: Around 2 years experience in a Data Governance/Analyst type role.
  • Knowledge of Data Protection Regulations: Extensive knowledge of GDPR and other data protection regulations relevant to the UK and Ireland.
  • Experience with Data Management Practices: Experience with data management practices, including data quality, data integration, and master data management.
  • Familiarity with Data Governance & Quality Tools: Familiarity with data governance & quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation).
  • Knowledge of Data Modelling and Database Management Systems: Knowledge of data modelling and database management systems.
  • Experience with Metadata Management and Data Cataloging: Experience with metadata management and data cataloging.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
