We are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection and Compliance Officer to join our team at Ventula Consulting. As a Data Protection and Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with data protection regulations and laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance: Ensure that the company's data protection policies and procedures are up-to-date and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
- Advice and Guidance: Provide advice and guidance to internal teams on data protection and compliance matters.
- Data Protection Breaches: Investigate and manage data protection breaches, including data subject rights requests.
- Documentation: Maintain centralized documentation of data processing, data sharing, and data storage activities.
- Training and Awareness: Design, organize, and deliver training programs to ensure awareness of data protection and compliance requirements throughout the organization.
- Legislative Updates: Stay up-to-date with changes in EU and UK law that may affect the business and advise on their application.
- Point of Contact: Be the primary point of contact for external bodies and stakeholders on data protection matters.
Requirements:
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate and report priorities, vulnerabilities, and risks.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Flexibility: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Interpretation and Implementation: Ability to interpret, make relevant, and implement current data protection legislation and developments.
