About the Role:

We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead our commercial and financial operations as a Director of Business Development and Operations. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for driving growth, ensuring profitability, and aligning our business unit's objectives with our company's overall strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with our business unit's overall objectives
  • Oversee daily operations and ensure efficiency and effectiveness in all business activities
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and legal requirements
  • Develop and manage the business unit's budget
  • Ensure financial targets are met and drive initiatives to improve profitability
  • Monitor financial performance and make data-driven decisions
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and evaluate operational performance
  • Analyse data and metrics to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders and provide regular updates on business performance
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and issues promptly and professionally

Requirements:

  • Commercial and operational experience gained within a fast-paced, technical manufacturing and service business, such as fuel, energy, EV, or environmental organisation
  • Extensive contract management experience delivering for customers under strict SLA regimes
  • Extensive commercial experience in a B2B contract-driven environment
  • Proven ability to balance commercial opportunity with operational capability while maximising profitability
