About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Sales Director to lead our sales team and drive business growth. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic sales plan that expands our customer base and increases market share.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and Develop the Sales Team: Coach, mentor, and support a team of 10 sales professionals to achieve sales targets and grow the project specifications sales pipeline.
  2. Strategic Sales Planning: Work in partnership with the MD to create and execute a strategic sales plan that expands the customer base and increases market share.
  3. Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, including architects, consulting engineers, specifiers, major contractors, public health engineers, food and beverage manufacturers, and specialist sub-contractors.
  4. Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of our range of drainage products, including drainage channels and gully systems, roof drainage systems, access covers, grease management systems, shower channels, shower drainage, stainless steel floor gullies, and car park gullies.
  5. Project Specifications: Support the sales team in gaining specifications on a variety of projects, including hospitals, residential care homes, prisons, schools, libraries, commercial office blocks, food and drink manufacturing, commercial kitchens, wet-rooms, and showers.
  6. Marketing and Branding: Identify strategic marketing needs and build brand and product campaigns with the Marketing business partner and brand development director.
  7. Team Performance: Coach the sales team to increase their technical and sales skills and guide them on increasing their closing of specifications with the contractor.

Requirements:

  1. Proven Sales and Leadership Experience: A demonstrable track record of sales and people management success in the construction/built environment.
  2. Industry Knowledge: Significant experience and understanding of working in a project/specification led construction products sales environment.
  3. Leadership Skills: A proven ability in building, developing, and leading a successful, high-performing sales team.
  4. Location: The role can be based anywhere with good access to the motorway and rail networks.
  5. Remuneration: £95K+ OTE, executive company car or car allowance, private health-cover, 33 days holiday, 6% pension contribution plus NI back if you use salary sacrifice option, and life assurance.
