Main Purpose of the Data & Insights Director Role:

As a key member of our Commercial Leadership Team, you will play a strategic leadership role. You will drive the direction of the day-to-day data and analytics teams, develop new insight service offerings, and represent our market-leading data & insight capabilities to both new and existing FMCG clients.

As an experienced data and insight director, you will thrive in managing, mentoring, and leading a team of curious data analysts and insight managers.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Leadership
  • Collaborate with the Executive Team and the CLT to align data initiatives with Acosta's goals and business priorities. This involves working closely with commercial, sales & marketing, and product development teams.
  • Establish the operational model for data management, both within the team and in partnership with our Business Unit Directors, external partners, and clients.
  • Demonstrate strong strategic leadership of key priorities, the team, and our new and existing clients.
Data & Insights Strategy
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy to support business objectives and drive growth.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage data analytics for improved decision-making across all areas of the organization.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in the data & analytics landscape.
Team Management
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of data analysts and insight professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, supporting their professional growth and development.
Client Engagement
  • Build strong relationships with clients, understanding their data needs and delivering tailored insights solutions.
  • Present findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner, effectively communicating complex data to diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify opportunities for ongoing data analysis and support.
Person Specification:
  • Proven experience developing insights for sales and marketing solutions development.
  • A strong understanding of core technical skills and subject matter areas within the data & analytics field.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict management and resolution skills.
  • Ability to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting and influencing at all levels.
  • Highly organized and planning-oriented with a forward-thinking approach and the ability to evaluate and adapt plans as needed.
  • Target-driven with good time and task management skills.
  • Self-motivated, confident, and determined.
  • Previous experience with PowerBI is highly desirable.
  • Retail and/or FMCG experience is a significant advantage.
