Job Overview

The Customer Experience and Service Delivery division is dedicated to providing a comfortable, secure, and efficient atmosphere for Members, their personnel, and the staff of the House, while also ensuring a welcoming and functional environment for all visitors to the House of Commons.

Catering Services, a vital part of the Customer Experience and Service Delivery division, is tasked with the effective management of the House of Commons catering facilities within a defined financial framework.

Our Catering Services promote a culture that adheres to the highest ethical standards across all business areas. Our commitment to excellence, combined with a desire to understand and meet our guests' needs, translates into an exceptional customer experience.

Role Responsibilities

Catering Support Assistants are essential team members who assist Supervisors and Managers in ensuring the seamless and efficient operation of various food and beverage outlets within a bustling catering environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering an outstanding guest experience while ensuring that all food and beverage displays are attractively presented and regularly replenished, in line with established customer and operational standards.
  • Maintaining impeccable cleanliness standards throughout the venue and ensuring it is free from litter.

Candidate Profile

  • Relevant experience in a similar role within a café or catering environment, demonstrating a high standard of service in a fast-paced, quality-focused establishment.
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and the ability to consistently apply this when interacting with diverse customers at all levels.
  • A high degree of flexibility and adaptability, while upholding the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion, and the ability to thrive in a busy setting.
  • Strong teamwork skills, actively assisting and supporting colleagues, and making constructive suggestions to enhance current operational procedures.
