About the Role

eBay is seeking a seasoned innovation leader to spearhead the development and execution of comprehensive strategies for its Web3 initiatives. As the Principal of Digital Innovation Strategy, you will be responsible for driving the launch and expansion of groundbreaking Web3 projects, harnessing the power of blockchain technologies to improve value propositions for eBay's diverse array of buyers, sellers, and business partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy Development: Lead the development of strategic analyses, argument modeling, and strategic planning for eBay's Web3 initiative, ensuring alignment with the company's overall vision and goals.
  • Capability Building: Build new capabilities and processes needed for eBay's Web3 to work seamlessly within the organization and with external partners, driving innovation and efficiency.
  • Product Launch: Co-own the delivery of new product launches, fostering collaboration with internal and external partners from day one to day 100 of the launch, ensuring successful market entry.
  • Narrative Development: Craft and present succinct, compelling narratives for eBay's internal partners, from C-Level to business unit leadership teams and other eBay teams, effectively communicating the value of Web3 initiatives.
  • Growth Opportunities: Identify incremental growth opportunities through Web3 for eBay, developing cases in collaboration with the Web3 leadership team, driving business expansion.
Requirements
  • Education: MBA or other advanced degree from a credible university, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Demonstrable experience at a premier company in management consulting, with a proven track record of delivering high-impact strategy projects, and experience with consumer-facing digital products.
  • Skills: Strong self-motivation and autonomy, excellent analytic, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a proven ability to structure unstructured problems and develop answers.
  • Blockchain Expertise: Direct working experience with blockchain technology, with a strong understanding of its applications and potential.
  • Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, partner with senior business leaders, direct reports, and global colleagues, driving collaboration and results.
