Senior Financial Accountant

Join Aon as a Senior Financial Accountant and become a vital part of our esteemed Pensions Accounts team in Birmingham. This position allows for a hybrid working model, blending remote work with in-office collaboration.

Your Daily Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to create Trustee Reports and Financial Statements for your portfolio of pension clients, ensuring compliance with FRS102 and SORP standards while adhering to deadlines.
  • Participate in regular meetings with partners to advance initiatives, identify challenges, and propose insightful solutions that yield positive results for clients. Engage closely with both UK and offshore accounts teams in preparing and reviewing financial documents, as well as managing audits and responding to inquiries promptly.
  • Work with a variety of pension clients, ranging from small wind-up schemes to large hybrid plans, utilizing your expertise to deliver exceptional service and results.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships across Aon's various teams and enhance our reputation with third-party providers.

Qualifications for Success

  • Proven experience in statutory accounts preparation, ideally within the pensions sector, with the ability to produce accurate accounts that meet regulatory and SORP requirements.
  • A collaborative team player who excels at building positive relationships with clients, auditors, investment managers, and other stakeholders, upholding Aon's esteemed reputation in Pensions Administration.
  • A commitment to becoming a subject matter expert in pension scheme accounts, with a strong understanding of regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements for outstanding client service.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage deadlines while delivering high-quality work that meets both manager and client expectations.
