About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Family Court Adviser (Social Worker) to join our Public and Private Law division. This role involves working across various regions, including Essex, Southend, and Thurrock, to support families in navigating the complexities of family law.

Recognized for our excellence, we strive to continuously improve our services for children and families. Our large team is divided into smaller geographical units, ensuring focused support across different areas:

  • Team 1: Southend/Thurrock
  • Team 2: South Chelmsford, Basildon, Grays, Harlow, and Epping
  • Team 3: North Essex (Clacton, Colchester, North Chelmsford, Braintree, Harwich)

While your primary focus will be on families within these regions, flexibility to travel across the county may be required based on demand.

Role Responsibilities

As a Family Court Adviser, you will engage directly with children and families, gathering insights and representing their views in court. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments and preparing detailed reports for court proceedings.
  • Advocating for the best interests of children involved in legal matters.
  • Collaborating with local authorities and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for families.

Candidate Profile

This role is rewarding yet challenging. Ideal candidates will be registered social workers with a minimum of three years of experience working with children and families. You should possess strong organizational skills, resilience, and the ability to work autonomously.
