Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating within a dynamic team, the selected candidates will be tasked with the migration, development, and deployment of innovative Cloud solutions tailored for various Defence and Cyber Security initiatives.
  • Utilizing established technologies, you will convert business aspirations, objectives, and high-level commissioning needs into comprehensive system designs and solutions.
  • You will lead solutioning efforts for significant opportunities within delivery programmes, overseeing the solution design process from initial concepts to operational transition.
  • You will be responsible for the complete solution architecture for assigned projects, identifying and engaging all necessary stakeholders, suppliers, and delivery teams.
  • You will formulate elements of technical strategy, roadmaps, and vision that align with board-approved business cases, policies, and broader Enterprise standards.
  • You will make informed design decisions characterized by managed levels of risk and complexity.
  • You will provide Technical Design Authority and Governance for technical solution architectures associated with assigned programmes and projects.
  • You will mediate technical disagreements among peers and indirect stakeholders, considering all perspectives and opinions.
  • You will cultivate effective relationships and maintain transparency with all key stakeholders, addressing their needs.
  • You will offer technical consultancy for new initiatives, aiding in the definition of business requirements or technical strategies.
  • You will ensure that proposed solutions meet essential non-functional requirements, including resilience, availability, performance, and scalability.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proficient in Agile methodologies and tools such as Scrum, Kanban, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Extensive experience with Cloud technologies and services (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform).
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD practices utilizing Jenkins, GitLab, and/or GitHub.
  • Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Ansible, and/or Puppet.
  • Familiarity with container technologies and orchestration platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Zero Trust and Microservices Architectures.
  • Proficient in Java and other programming languages such as Python.
  • Experience in comprehensive system design.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks.
  • Experience in development on Linux and/or Windows platforms.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Relational Databases and MongoDB.
  • Designing solutions that adhere to business and technical constraints.
  • Understanding of DevOps and DevSecOps principles, including secure design and implementation.
