Job Summary

Mid-West Services Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist Support Worker to join our team. As a Specialist Support Worker, you will play a critical role in providing an enhanced level of service for our vulnerable clients, particularly those who have been trafficked.

Key Responsibilities
  • Casework Support
    • Provide casework support to vulnerable clients, including crisis management and risk assessment.
  • Legislative Knowledge and Safe Practices
    • Understand relevant legislation related to trafficking and ensure compliance.
    • Aware of safe practices, particularly when working alone.
  • Crisis Management
    • Support service users effectively in crisis situations.
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Develop strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients and agencies.
    • Work effectively as part of a team and manage relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Advocacy and Support
    • Advocate for high-risk service users with agencies.
    • Develop individual support plans and manage a busy caseload.
  • Interpersonal and Organisational Skills
    • Empathise with vulnerable individuals and build trust and rapport.
    • Coordinate services with statutory and voluntary organisations.
  • Financial Management and Integrity
    • Record and manage financial transactions.
    • Handle sensitive and confidential information with high integrity and professionalism.
Requirements
  • Casework Support Experience
    • Proven ability to provide casework support to vulnerable clients.
  • Legislative Knowledge and Safe Practices
    • Understanding of relevant legislation related to trafficking.
