Independent Advocate Role Overview

In this position, you will play a key role in assisting vulnerable individuals who are navigating complex health and social care issues. Your responsibilities will include crafting compelling verbal and written representations for clients, working collaboratively with both public and voluntary organizations, and taking proactive measures to resolve client concerns. This role requires adaptability, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
Work Schedule:
- Full Time, 37 hours per week,
- Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm.
Location: Primarily remote with necessary travel across the designated area. Some assignments may require travel beyond the immediate region, with travel expenses reimbursed, including mileage. A full UK driving license is advantageous but not mandatory.
This position necessitates flexibility and travel within the working hours of 9am to 5pm to meet service demands.
Travel Compensation: We reimburse travel expenses for work-related activities, with specific arrangements based on your residence.
Qualifications for Independent Advocate:
- Proficient communication and time management skills to effectively work in a remote setting.
- Strong IT capabilities, including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, along with the ability to learn new software applications.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and reporting within tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in advocacy, information provision, or a related role within health, social care, or the nonprofit sector.
- Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable populations.
- Understanding of public and voluntary sector organizations.
