Role Overview:

The Cost Estimator Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring prompt submission of account applications.
  • Preparing and submitting interim valuations for contracts.
  • Generating monthly Work In Progress reports.
  • Forecasting anticipated final costs against recovery expectations.
  • Leading all pricing aspects of project work, focusing on commercial pricing and client submissions.
  • Maintaining close collaboration with the client’s commercial teams.
  • Processing payments for subcontractor accounts as necessary.
  • Drafting and issuing subcontract documentation.
  • Establishing and updating RFI/COI schedules in coordination with Contract Managers.
  • Reporting on financial gains and losses, including potential future financial challenges.
  • Negotiating rates and prices with subcontractors.
  • Participating in progress and commercial meetings, representing the company in a commercial role.
  • Preparing and updating cash flow and expenditure profiles.
  • Managing contract WIP reduction, sales revenue, and profit objectives.
  • Collaborating closely with contract teams to ensure optimal contract delivery while controlling costs, procurement, and supply chain management.
  • Working with the billing manager to enhance cost reporting and invoicing processes for contracts.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, particularly within civil engineering and infrastructure contracts.
  • Strong understanding of the market dynamics.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in managing profit and loss accounts while adhering to budgetary targets.
  • Demonstrated project management success.
  • Ability to initiate, draft, and review documentation.
  • Exceptional negotiation capabilities.
  • Proficiency in IT applications, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Possession of a full UK driving license.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial and contractual matters related to Facilities Management and NEC 4.
