Role Overview:
The Cost Estimator will be responsible for:
- Ensuring prompt submission of financial applications.
- Preparing and presenting interim valuations for contracts.
- Generating monthly reports on Work In Progress.
- Estimating anticipated final costs against forecasted recoveries.
- Leading all pricing aspects of project tasks, focusing on commercial pricing and client submissions.
- Maintaining close communication with client commercial teams.
- Processing payments for subcontractor accounts as necessary.
- Drafting and issuing subcontract agreements.
- Establishing and updating RFI/COI schedules in collaboration with Contract Managers.
- Reporting on financial gains and losses, including potential future financial challenges.
- Negotiating rates and prices with subcontractors.
- Participating in progress and commercial meetings, representing the company in a commercial role.
- Preparing and revising cash flow and expenditure profiles.
- Managing contract WIP reduction, sales revenue, and profit objectives.
- Collaborating closely with Contract teams to ensure effective contract delivery while controlling costs, procurement, and supply chain management.
- Working alongside the billing manager to enhance cost reporting and invoicing processes for contracts.

Candidate Profile:
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, particularly in civil engineering and infrastructure contracts.
- Strong understanding of the market landscape.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Experience managing profit and loss accounts and adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Demonstrated project management success.
- Skills in initiating, drafting, and reviewing contractual documents.
- Exceptional negotiation capabilities.
- Proficiency in IT applications, such as MS Word and Excel.
- Possession of a full UK Driving Licence.
- Comprehensive knowledge of commercial and contractual matters related to Facilities Management and NEC 4.
