Job Title: Associate Professor in Education

We are seeking a highly qualified Associate Professor in Education to join our faculty at Widener University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses on campus and online, serving as the graduate program director, contributing to scholarship through presentations and/or publications, and pursuing service and leadership opportunities within the Program, Center, College, University, and profession.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as graduate program director, collaborating with Graduate Admissions and Enrollment to recruit and admit students in the Master of Counselor Education Program.
  • Teach courses on campus and online, demonstrating effectiveness in teaching and student assessment.
  • Develop and implement courses, using faculty development opportunities and teacher effectiveness tools to improve teaching.
  • Provide academic advising and mentorship to students and student organizations.
  • Maintain regular office hours and identify students who need extra attention or support.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Counselor Education or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Doctoral degree in Counselor Education or a related field from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Experience in higher education, particularly in recruitment and retention of students.
