Job Title: Clerk and Financial Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Clerk and Financial Officer. As a key member of our team, you will provide essential administrative support to the council, assist the Chair in managing meetings, and offer advice on policy and legislation to facilitate effective decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare agendas, attend meetings, take minutes, and provide advice to Councillors on procedural and legal matters.
  • Manage all incoming and outgoing correspondence, serving as the primary point of contact for residents.
  • Oversee the Council's finances, handling tasks such as invoice payments, VAT reclaims, budgeting, bank reconciliations, financial monitoring, and reporting.
  • Organise and submit responses to planning applications.
  • Upload statutory information to the village website and notice boards, with occasional use of other communication channels.
Requirements:
  • Passion for improving the community.
  • Strong sense of commitment, motivation, and a willingness to learn.
  • Reliability and ability to work independently.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary range of £29,269 - £36,648 per annum (pro rata).
  • Reasonable expenses and a £26 per month working from home allowance.
  • A flexible scheduling arrangement for specific days and times.
