Fire & Security Installation Engineer

FAFS Fire & Security is a leading provider specializing in the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of automatic Fire Detection, Protection, and Alarm Systems. We are currently seeking a dedicated Fire & Security Installation Engineer to cover the London area.

Compensation Package – £45-50,000 per annum based on experience

Role Overview

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Small Works / Installations Team on various projects, ensuring seamless execution from start to finish for systems including CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms, and Fire Alarms. The ideal Engineer will be committed to delivering exceptional customer service and will be recognized for their contributions.

  • Coordinate with the Lead Engineer on challenging sites, addressing any critical issues.
  • Engage effectively with subcontractors and clients on-site.
  • Maintain Fire & Security Systems in your designated area as needed.
  • Ensure clear communication with customers and scheduling teams during site visit planning.
  • Utilize customer portals as instructed by your Lead Engineer in line with client requirements.
  • Assist the team with additional tasks as necessary.
  • Occasionally support Service Engineers on specific assignments, which may involve working outside your usual area.
  • Plan and respond to routine and reactive service calls in your region.
  • Manage inventory levels with assistance from the Stores team.
  • Participate in training sessions as required.
  • Attend Engineering team meetings as necessary.
  • Identify personal training and development needs to enhance customer service delivery.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Fire and Security Systems.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, specifically in Fire & Security Installation.
  • A technical background in the electrical or electronic sector.
  • Experience in direct customer interaction is preferred.
  • Familiarity with current industry standards and the ability to commission multi-disciplined systems.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Highly organized, professional, and proficient in computer use.
  • A valid UK Driving Licence.
