Fire & Security Installation Engineer

FAFS Fire & Security is a leading provider specializing in the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of automatic Fire Detection, Protection, and Alarm Systems throughout the Greater London area. We are seeking to recruit a skilled Fire & Security Installation Engineer to serve the London region.

Competitive Salary – £45-50,000 per annum based on experience

Role Overview

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Small Works / Installations Team on various projects, overseeing them from initial planning to final execution, focusing on CCTV, Access Control, Intruder, and Fire Alarm Systems. The ideal Engineer will be dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service and will be recognized for their contributions.

  • Coordinate with the Lead Engineer regarding challenging sites and critical issues.
  • Engage effectively with subcontractors and onsite clients.
  • Maintain Fire & Security Systems in your designated area as needed.
  • Ensure clear communication with clients and scheduling teams when organizing site visits.
  • Utilize customer portals as instructed by your Lead Engineer to meet client requirements.
  • Assist the team with additional tasks as necessary.
  • Occasionally support Service Engineers on specific assignments, which may involve working outside your usual area.
  • Plan and respond to both routine and reactive service calls in your territory.
  • Manage inventory levels with assistance from the Stores team.
  • Participate in training sessions as required.
  • Attend Engineering team meetings as necessary.
  • Identify personal training and development needs to enhance customer service delivery.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Fire and Security Systems.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, specifically in Fire & Security Installation.
  • A technical background in the electrical or electronic sectors.
  • Experience in direct customer interaction is preferred.
  • Familiarity with current industry standards and the ability to commission multi-disciplined systems.
  • Self-driven and capable of organizing tasks independently.
  • Highly organized, professional, and proficient in computer use.
  • Possession of a Full UK Driving Licence.
