About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Play Support Worker to join our team at Achieving for Children. As a Play Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, stimulating, and enjoyable play or leisure environment for children and young people with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children with disabilities in a variety of settings, including group sessions and one-to-one activities.
- Encourage children to participate in group activities, develop their intellectual and social skills, and use various resources and experience a range of activities.
- Assist with personal care, feeding, moving, and handling needs of children with disabilities.
- Ensure the environment is safe, organized, and clean, and make a welcoming environment for all.
- Work independently and as part of a team to provide high-quality support to children and young people.
- Support with administration of medication, emergency medication, or similar (once trained).
- Aware of safeguarding policies and procedures and follow them accordingly.
- Write up reports associated with the days' events.
About You
- Interest and experience in supporting children and young people with disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with children, young people, and colleagues.
- Team player with a flexible and adaptable approach.
- Able to work after school, weekends, and holiday periods.
- Friendly, welcoming, and engaging with a calm and resilient approach.
