About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Play Support Worker to join our team at Achieving for Children. As a Play Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, stimulating, and enjoyable play or leisure environment for children and young people with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children with disabilities in a variety of settings, including group sessions and one-to-one activities.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of play and leisure activities, ensuring they are engaging and accessible for all participants.
- Provide personal care, feeding, and moving and handling support as needed.
- Ensure the environment is safe, organized, and clean, promoting a welcoming atmosphere for all.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a comprehensive support service.
- Administer medication, emergency medication, or similar, once trained.
- Be aware of safeguarding policies and procedures, adhering to Achieving for Children's guidelines.
- Write reports on daily events, providing valuable insights into the experiences of the children and young people.
About You
We are looking for an individual with a passion for supporting children and young people with disabilities. You should possess excellent communication skills, be a team player, and be able to work independently. Flexibility, resilience, and a calm demeanor are essential in this role.
