Job Title: Revenue Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Revenue Officer to join our team at Brackenberry Ltd. As a Revenue Officer, you will play a crucial role in assisting a Local Authority in Bath with the appointment of a Revenue Officer on a 3-month contract, with a high likelihood of extension.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and process information from various sources, ensuring accuracy and availability in various systems and calculations.
  • Undertake calculations and assessments to determine liability for charges and eligibility for discounts, reliefs, exemptions, or benefits and payments, in accordance with legislation and defined procedures.
  • Verify documentation provided by customers, ensuring compliance with strict requirements and accuracy.
  • Issue correspondence, letters, and bills using standard templates, providing clear and appropriate written communication to customers.
  • Escalate complex or specialist cases to colleagues, ensuring appropriate handling and resolution.
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in customer-facing service delivery and data processing.
  • Knowledge of processes, procedures, and protocols related to benefits, council tax, and business rates.
  • Some knowledge of legislation and regulations related to benefits, business rates, council tax, financial assessments, and data protection.
  • Proficiency in a range of systems related to data processing.

  • Availability to work immediately or at short notice is essential.
  • Right to work in the UK is required.
