Job Title: Education Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Education Coordinator to lead the delivery of our Education strategy in line with our strategic objectives and the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the Educational strategy for our Academy u9-u18 programme.
  • Oversee the management and supervision of the Full Time Training Model (FTTM), Hybrid Training Model (HTM) and Part Time Training Model (PTTM).
  • Liaise and work alongside Local Schools, Further Education Colleges to implement the FTTM, HTM, PTTM.
  • Track, monitor and report on the Educational Progression within the FTTM & HTM, utilising both school-based and internal systems.
  • Lead and monitor educational and personal development progress in line with LFE (League Football Education) expectations for scholars.
  • Ensure all apprentices achieve successful education outcomes.
  • Plan and carry out regular reviews to maximise achievement rates of apprentices working towards the successful completion of their apprenticeship.
  • Deliver against and create post-apprenticeship strategies in line with identified exit routes for released players at Youth and Professional Development Phases.
  • Work with local schools in creating agreements, identifying educational course work and monitoring progress on day-release programmes, part-time programmes to measure educational outcomes and progress.
  • Work with players within the Foundation Phase, Youth & Professional Phases and create appropriate Individual Learning Plans to support their education and progress.
  • Create periodic Education Reviews for individual players and organise meetings with both players and parents to discuss educational attainment.
  • Ensure robust processes and procedures are implemented for PGAAC audit and Ofsted purposes.
  • Work closely with the League Football Education in understanding and supporting Induction processes, responding to reporting responsibilities, attending LFE meetings and understanding the LFE progression activities.
  • Work closely with the Academy Manager around the financial management of the education budget; including budget planning and control for the functions of the educational team and any CPD related activities.
  • Support the creation of, and implementation of an appropriate Welfare plan linked to the respective phases of development and training models.
  • Liaise with, and support the Academy Head of Player Care, host families and establishments that provide accommodation and external provisions in housing scholars.
  • Oversee the transport policy in line with EFL guidance and safe and best practices in supporting young people using transport for mobility activities.
  • Liaise with Head of Academy Administration on all relevant administration to ensure best practice is delivered.
  • Liaise with Head of Player Care and Academy Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure best practice in safeguarding is delivered.
Requirements:
  • (BEd) degree, or Bachelor of Arts (BA), or Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in teaching or with PGCE
  • QTS or QTLS
  • Current knowledge of Ofsted requirements and Apprenticeship reforms
  • Current FA/FAW Safeguarding Children Workshop Certificate (or willingness to complete within 1 month of appointment)
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Education Management System (League Football Education)
  • Outstanding Education practitioner with experience of education needs of 9-18 years
  • Experience of the supervision BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport
  • Demonstrated experience of supervisory management
  • Demonstrated experience of working within a football scholarship programme for young people aged 16-18 years (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience of working within professional football specific to the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP)
