Medical Office Coordinator

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Medical Office Coordinator to join our team at Strathmore Medical Practice. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our front desk.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve patients by greeting and assisting them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate records and accounts.
- Welcome patients and visitors in person or over the phone, and respond to inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Comfort patients by anticipating their needs, answering their questions, and maintaining a clean and welcoming reception area.
- Help patients in distress by responding to emergencies and providing support.
- Protect patient confidentiality by maintaining the security and integrity of medical, personal, and financial information.
- Maintain operations by following established policies and procedures, and reporting any needed changes.
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Provide flexible coverage for absent colleagues and adhere to health and safety procedures.
- Input patient data into our system, including changes of address.
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Perform other duties as specified by the Practice Manager, Reception Manager, and Deputy Practice Manager.
Requirements
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deal with stressful situations and prioritize tasks.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Good standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent.
- Medical terminology and knowledge of GDPR are desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
