Contract Overview:

This position offers a temporary role with a local authority in East London, focusing on effective management of car park operations.

Role Summary:

The primary responsibility is to ensure proper handling of equipment and financial transactions while providing excellent customer service. This role requires adherence to legal standards and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Explain parking charges clearly to customers and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  2. Reconcile cash and ticket transactions diligently, following established procedures.
  3. Manage lost ticket protocols and oversee controlled exits.
  4. Perform minor repairs and maintenance on access control systems.
  5. Monitor inventory of supplies to guarantee seamless operations.
  6. Report maintenance issues to the supervisor promptly.
  7. Engage professionally with all stakeholders, including tenants and visitors.
  8. Maintain accurate transaction records and daily reports.
  9. Adhere to health and safety policies as mandated by the Council.
  10. Conduct routine patrols and participate actively in operational activities.
  11. Report any defects or issues within the car park to the supervisor.
  12. Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or team leader.
  13. Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene while on duty.
  14. Complete necessary documentation in accordance with Council policies.
  15. Stay informed about changes that may impact car park operations.

Essential Experience:

Previous experience in a car park setting is advantageous, though comprehensive training will be provided. A strong understanding of customer service principles is essential.

Additional Information:

The role may require flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts as needed. A valid driving license is necessary, and the successful candidate must be willing to operate a Council vehicle following a driving assessment. This position is subject to a standard/enhanced DBS check.
