About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist in Paediatrics, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical services to our paediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of clinical pharmacy services for patients admitted to Children's Services, ensuring safe, clinically effective, and cost-efficient use of drugs.
- Provide clinical pharmacy services for patients admitted to Children's Services, prioritizing tasks and ensuring high-quality care.
- Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of clinical pharmacy services, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
- Act as a clinical role model, demonstrating expertise in paediatric pharmacy and providing training and education to ward pharmacists.
- Develop and implement clinical pharmacy services to advance the safe, clinically effective, and cost-efficient use of drugs in paediatric patients.
- Participate in the clinical training of ward pharmacists, identifying and meeting their training needs.
- Maintain a broad level of pharmacy practice, participating in other areas of clinical pharmacy practice and ensuring a broad base of pharmaceutical knowledge.
Person Specification
- Essential:
- Clinical experience in paediatric medicine and surgery.
- Previous experience in delivering training and education.
- Experience of multidisciplinary health services working.
- Demonstrable use of clinical audit to improve practice.
- Desirable:
- Clinical experience in obstetrics and neonatology.
- Previous experience in delivering training and education at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
- Demonstration of active participation in multi-disciplinary health care research.
- Registered Independent Prescriber.
- Previous experience of using electronic prescribing software.
Requirements
- Masters degree in Pharmacy.
- Pre-registration training.
- Specialist pharmacy knowledge acquired through postgraduate diploma level or equivalent training or experience.
