About the Role

As a Dealership Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the financial function at this busy dealership. You will be responsible for producing accurate and timely management accounts, analyzing financial performance, and implementing controls to maximize returns and cash flow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly management accounts, providing detailed analysis and commentary to Divisional Finance Directors.
  • Collaborate with the centralized accounting department to collate and examine purchase and sales ledger information.
  • Supervise a team of Accounts staff and a Sales Administrator, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Provide analytical support across the business, evaluating profit optimization strategies and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Monitor performance measurement tools and techniques to ensure projects are on track and objectives are met.
  • Review capital and project appraisals, contributing to informed decision-making.
  • Consolidate group budgets and forecasts, providing valuable insights into financial planning.
  • Conduct investigative and analytical exercises as required, ensuring the integrity of financial data.
Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting principles and proven experience within the automotive industry. You will be a highly motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Demonstrated technical and analytical accounting skills.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities combined with a collaborative approach.
  • Proven track record within the motor industry.
  • Previous accountancy experience within a car dealership, utilizing Kerridge, Pinnacle, or similar accounting software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
