Job Title: Specialist Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD). As a key member of our Therapeutic Wellbeing Service, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality specialist treatment to children and young people with mental health needs.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mental health assessment and therapeutic interventions, with experience of working with complex needs and undertaking risk assessments. You will be able to work collaboratively with service users, families, and carers, and provide professional teaching and training to other professionals.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering excellent care and is committed to promoting the well-being of children and young people. If you have a strong clinical background and excellent communication skills, we would love to hear from you.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist mental health assessment and therapeutic interventions to children and young people with mental health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with service users, families, and carers to develop and implement care plans.
  • Provide professional teaching and training to other professionals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of effective models of care to facilitate timely, clinician-to-clinician advice.
Requirements:
  • Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by specialist training or equivalent experience to Masters level with a relevant core professional training (e.g. Nursing, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, etc).
  • Training in an evidence-based therapeutic approach.
  • Training in supervision and/or leadership skills.
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time position, but we are open to considering part-time or flexible working arrangements. You will be required to travel across Devon as part of your role.
