About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our Liaison Psychiatry service based in Exeter. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the mental health care of people in the general hospital.

Main Responsibilities
  • Make specialist mental health assessments and devise interventions to support individuals in their recovery.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to complete assessments and consultation work with people who require support for their mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement individual recovery plans, working closely with clients, their families, and carers.
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior and unqualified staff, as well as students.
Requirements
  • Extensive post-registration experience working in mental health care, ideally in both inpatient and community settings.
  • Experience of leading on completion of biopsychosocial assessments with people with mental health needs.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of acute mental health issues within working age and older adults.
  • Understanding of recovery principles in mental health and Local Mental Health Care Pathways.
