Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Safety and Compliance Specialist to enhance our operations at Stoelzle Glass Group.

This role involves supporting the Health and Safety Manager in delivering comprehensive health and safety guidance to the organization, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation, company policies, and established procedures.

The ideal candidate will be poised for advancement into a Health and Safety Manager role within a year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with employees across all levels to uphold and elevate health and safety standards;
  • Assist in crafting procedures that align with legal requirements and industry best practices;
  • Contribute to the development and execution of a robust Health and Safety strategy;
  • Facilitate in-house training sessions and provide health and safety guidance to management and staff;
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement effective control measures to mitigate identified risks, including general risk assessments, manual handling, fire safety, and COSHH;
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, collaborating with involved parties to foster improvements and prevent recurrence;
  • Coordinate with external agencies and internal departments, such as Occupational Health;
  • Participate in the Health and Safety committee, actively promoting awareness of health and safety matters;
  • Offer expertise on specialized topics such as fire regulations, first aid, hazardous materials, and machinery safety;
  • Act as a deputy for the Health and Safety Manager in their absence;
  • Commit to ongoing professional development;
  • Support additional projects or initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage at all organizational levels;
  • NEBOSH National Diploma in Health and Safety (or equivalent) or actively pursuing it;
  • Membership in IOSH;
  • Self-driven with a proactive mindset;
  • Strong organizational capabilities;
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous;
  • Background in medium to large organizations;
  • Approachable demeanor;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting;
  • Capable of working collaboratively or independently.
