Our client is a successful and well-established manufacturing company. They are looking for an experienced HSE Advisor / Health Safety and Environmental Advisor to join them. This HS&E Advisor / Health Safety and Environmental Adviser role will eventually progress into a HSE Manager role (within 9-12 months), from here there will be a salary and benefits increase.
Applicant Requirements:
• NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety (or equivalent), or willing to work towards it
• IOSH Membership would be preferred
• Computer literate
• Good written and oral presentation skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
• Manufacturing experience is desirable
• Experience of working for medium to large company
• Proactive & able to work off own initiative
• Can demonstrate ongoing professional development
• Ability to liaise and communicate at all levels and deal with potential conflict and difficult situations
Salary up to £40,000 (Depending on experience) + Benefits
Hours of work: Day working hours, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:
• To assist the Health & Safety Manager in providing health and safety guidance and advice to the organisation and ensuring compliance with legislation, company policy, procedures and processes.
• To work in a way that engages with employees at all levels in maintaining and improving Health and Safety standards
• To assist in the development of procedures that take into account legislation and best practice
• Assistance in development and implementation of a comprehensive Health and Safety strategy
• Lead in-house training and provide guidance on health and safety for managers and employees
• The assessment of risk and the implementation of suitable control and improvement activities to reduce any identified risks, including general risk assessments, manual handling, fire, COSHH etc.
• The investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses, working with those involved to develop improvements to prevent reoccurrences
• Liaise with external agencies and internal support functions, such as Occupational Health
• Involvement in the Health and Safety committee, actively promoting awareness of health and safety issues
• Provide advice on specialist areas such as fire regulations, first aid, hazardous substances, machinery and more

• Deputise for the Health and Safety Manager in their absence
This role could also suit people with previous experience as a Health Safety and Environmental Manager / HSE Officer / Health & Safety Quality Advisor / HSEQ / QHSE / Health & Safety Manager / Health & Safety Quality Advisor / SHEQ / HSQE / HSEQ / QHSE / Health Safety and Environmental Adviser / H&S Co-ordinator / HSE Officer / Health Safety and Environmental Advisor / etc
