Job Summary

We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Officer to join our team in Ferrybridge. As an EHS Officer, you will play a critical role in establishing and improving health, safety, and environmental policies, with the aim of fostering a zero-harm culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer key EHS processes to ensure smooth and safe operations for all team members.
  • Ensure complete site compliance with all UK law and statutes, business EHS best practices, and site permit requirements.
  • Facilitate essential EHS training and all other local EHS initiatives.
  • Lead site improvement projects as required for identified EHS improvements.
  • Act as the site's focal point for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, supporting all internal and external auditing, and closing any raised non-conformances.
  • Support all team members at the local level with EHS advice as required to ensure continued compliance and governance of the site's EHS management systems.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Safety Officer, Safety Advisor, HSE Officer, or a role accountable for EHS compliance within the manufacturing industry.
  • Completion of a NEBOSH General Certification.
  • NEBOSH Diploma is advantageous but not required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with all levels of associates.
  • Project management experience and the ability to work effectively against SOPs.
