Job Title: Training Programme Director for Ophthalmology

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Ophthalmology Training Programme. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of School to deliver a wide range of functions aligned to the NHS England mandate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Ophthalmology Training Programme, ensuring it meets the needs of our learners and the NHS England mandate.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty and stakeholders to improve learner supervision, assessment, and experience.
  • Develop and maintain effective educational outcomes, both now and in the future.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the Training Programme Director role, focusing on whole workforce transformation and developing multi-professional links.
  • Support the Postgraduate Dean in working across the spectrum of health and social care, within the context of a team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in leading training programmes or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of the NHS England mandate and its implications for education and training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
