Training Programme Director Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Training Programme Director for Ophthalmology.

This is a part-time role, requiring 2 hours of work per week, with a salary of £5000 per annum.

The successful candidate will be professionally and managerially accountable to the Head of School and will focus on improving learner supervision, assessment, and experience, as well as engaging faculty and ensuring effective educational outcomes.

The role is evolving and will also focus on whole workforce transformation and developing multi-professional links.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the Postgraduate Dean in working across the spectrum of health and social care, within the context of a team, to deliver an integrated workforce.
  • Work with faculty to improve learner supervision, assessment, and experience, and to ensure effective educational outcomes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage faculty and promote effective educational practices.
  • Contribute to the development of a whole workforce transformation strategy, focusing on multi-professional links and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Leadership skills and ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, written, and presentation skills.
  • Considerable experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context.
  • Experience of clinical and educational leadership and innovation, including managing a multi-professional team.
  • Primary clinical healthcare qualification.
  • Membership/Fellowship of a College, Faculty, professional association, and/or regulatory body relevant to the speciality.
  • Currently working as a Consultant in the appropriate speciality area.
