The Senior Project Manager plays a pivotal role in supervising and enhancing organizational processes within the Power and Energy Connections sector. This position ensures the safe and efficient generation of electricity while adhering to regulatory standards.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in the Energy connections and Power infrastructure industries to advance and develop within the organization. We seek an experienced Senior Project Manager or Portfolio Manager to become a subject matter expert and assist in guiding the business towards achieving its market objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement strategies that align with the company's objectives.
  • Facilitate collaboration among cross-functional teams to promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate departmental budgets to enhance profitability.
  • Encourage and motivate team members through positive reinforcement and incentive programs.
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence.
  • Oversee Project Managers leading delivery teams.
  • Establish and assess annual objectives for team members.
  • Proactively identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.
  • Review monthly budgets with Project Managers, reconciling against resource and material allocations.
  • Advocate for sustainability initiatives, integrating environmental and social considerations into projects.

Experience

A minimum of 8-10 years in Project Management, including experience in people management.

Experience in the Power and Energy Sector is essential.

Qualifications

HV Electrical Engineering Degree (preferred).

Additional certifications: APM, CSCS.

PTS (not essential).

Technical Skills

Design and Planning:

Proficiency in designing High Voltage (HV) substations, cable routes, and earthing systems for voltages ranging from 11kV to 400kV.

Grid Applications:

Knowledge of the process for connecting to the high voltage transmission system, including navigating complex grid applications and requirements.

Feasibility Studies:

Ability to assess the feasibility of HV grid connections, considering factors such as location, load demand, and environmental impact.

Power System Studies:

Conducting studies to analyze grid stability, fault levels, and protection coordination.

Construction and Commissioning:

Understanding of HV substation construction, including equipment installation, wiring, and safety protocols.

Compliance and Regulations:

Familiarity with G99 and G100 compliance, including the Grid Code requirements for connecting generation equipment to the grid.

Project Management Skills:

Ability to coordinate various stakeholders, manage timelines, and ensure successful project delivery.
