About the Role
Climax Studios, a leading creative force in independent games development, is seeking an experienced and multi-talented Lead Environment Artist to join our team. As a key member of our art department, you will be responsible for conceiving, creating, and leading the team in producing innovative visual experiences for AAA titles.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement artistic visions for AAA titles, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and engaging game experiences.
- Lead and mentor a team of environment artists, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality deliverables and efficient project workflows.
- Collaborate with art directors and other stakeholders to develop and maintain art style guides, ensuring consistency across all projects.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our art processes and techniques.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring successful project delivery and meeting client expectations.
Requirements
- At least 4+ years of experience in console development, with a proven track record of shipping AAA titles as a Lead Artist.
- Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to direct internal and external teams, and present to clients and stakeholders.
- Excellent resource management and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Autonomous and self-motivated, with a passion for delivering high-quality game experiences and a commitment to excellence.
- Experience with art production pipelines, including asset creation, texture painting, and lighting.
- Strong understanding of game engines, including Unity and Unreal Engine.
