Part-Time Facilities Assistant

Job Overview:

This position entails a commitment of 20 hours per week, scheduled from Monday to Friday, with the possibility of additional hours for emergency call-outs.

The Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council is seeking a dedicated and dependable individual to join our team as a part-time Facilities Assistant. This role is initially temporary, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

The role will primarily be based across two school sites, with the expectation of flexibility to cover additional locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary key holder, responsible for the opening and closing of the facilities.
  • Conduct regular checks and maintenance of alarms and safety systems.
  • Ensure that all pathways and entrances are maintained and clear of snow, ice, and other obstructions.
  • Maintain cleanliness in outdoor areas, including litter management.
  • Perform basic inspections of school transport vehicles.
  • Coordinate with external service providers for maintenance tasks.

The working hours will be structured around a split shift schedule, accommodating the needs of the school day. Additional hours may be required for alarm responses, compensated as overtime.
