About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Building Surveyor to join our team at PropertyWeek4Jobs. As a key member of our Property Team, you will play a significant role in defining your own long-term objectives and work independently, without being micro-managed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the business as a whole, primarily to the Property Team in managing the portfolio and tenants, including occupied and void properties.
  • Carry out routine inspections of properties to confirm their current status and condition.
  • Assist with acquisition due diligence and provide opinions on building condition.
  • Advise the business on current and emerging legislative and regulatory requirements within the built environment sphere.
  • Take a proactive approach to identifying and resolving property issues within the firm.
  • Act as Principal Designer/Contract Administrator where appropriate.
  • Carry out Insurance Reinstatement Cost valuations for the portfolio and be comfortable deriving and presenting budget figures for programmes of works.
  • Presentation of opportunities for development and improvement of the portfolio to the Board of Directors, having a strong grasp of the business and economic case for a project alongside its technical aspects.
Requirements
  • MRICS/FRICS or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably with a portfolio career or consultancy background.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond to changing priorities and deadlines.
