Herbert Smith Freehills is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Litigation Solicitor to join our esteemed Digital Legal Delivery team in Belfast.

As a key member of our dynamic practice, you will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional legal counsel and support to our clients across a wide range of commercial disputes. Your expertise will be instrumental in navigating complex legal challenges and achieving favorable outcomes for our esteemed clientele.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive legal advice and representation to clients on a variety of commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, intellectual property infringement, and regulatory investigations.
  • Conduct thorough legal research, analysis, and drafting of pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of litigation cases, from initial client intake to trial and appeal.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless case management and communication.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal developments and industry best practices.
  • Adhere to strict ethical standards and professional conduct guidelines.
Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified solicitor or barrister in England and Wales, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, or other common law jurisdictions. (If not qualified in England and Wales then willing to complete the process to requalify as such, if required);
  • Minimum of 2 years' PQE working in commercial litigation.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience working in a commercial legal environment, ideally a private practice law firm.
  • Experience of successfully managing others, including direct reports.
  • Knowledge and experience of legal work for the Disputes practice group, for example large scale document review or claims assessment.
