As a Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy staff in delivering high-quality care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with functional activities of daily living, including dressing, undressing, and domestic activities.
- Supervise exercises and prepare patients for treatment.
- Assist patients to increase their independence by using daily living aids.
- Recognize the need to refer back to the Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist, identifying contra-indications to treatment and signs of deterioration.
- Communicate effectively with patients to gain informed consent to treatment.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date treatment notes in line with legal and departmental requirements.
- Experience working with the elderly in a community or care setting.
- English and maths at GCSE level or equivalent.
- Basic IT skills, flexible, and adaptable, with good time management.
- Knowledge and experience of manual handling skills.
- Ability to communicate well with people, work within a team, and maintain calm and confident approach.
