About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Therapy Team at the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. As a Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy staff in delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with a range of conditions, including dementia, Parkinson's disease, and falls.
  • Work under the supervision of qualified staff to undertake tasks such as assisting with functional activities of daily living, supervising exercises, and preparing patients for treatment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to gain informed consent to treatment and assess their understanding of treatment proposals.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive treatment notes in line with legal and departmental requirements.
Requirements
  • Experience working with the elderly in a community or care setting.
  • Basic IT skills and knowledge of manual handling techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
