Payroll & Benefits Business Partner - Senior Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll & Benefits Business Partner to join our team at Leisure People Recruitment. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for leading the payroll team and ensuring the smooth operation of our payroll processes.
Key Responsibilities- Payroll Leadership: Lead the payroll team of 5 through recruitment, training, objective setting, and performance management.
- Payroll Operations: Oversee all payroll activities, including running the monthly payroll, and ensure compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Payroll Policy and Procedure: Review and create payroll policies, procedures, and schedules to ensure optimum efficiency in payroll processing.
- Strategic Planning: Develop strategic plans to consistently improve the payroll function across the organization, in conjunction with the Head of People and senior leadership team.
- Financial Management: Ensure that payroll spending is in line with budget on a site-by-site basis.
- HMRC Liaison: Liaise with HMRC as required.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate payroll and benefit records through effective management and audit.
- Reporting: Provide accurate and timely management information monthly, or as agreed.
- Employee Expenses: Provide leadership and oversight of employee expenses to meet agreed budgetary controls.
- Project Management: Project manage payroll projects as required, or effectively contribute to projects where payroll processing is impacted.
- Site Visits: Carry out site visits to support the continuous improvement of the payroll and benefits.
- Professional Qualification: Professional qualification such as CIPP.
- Payroll Experience: Significant experience in leading a high-volume monthly payroll.
- Payroll System Management: Experience in managing a payroll linked to a time and attendance system.
- Multiple Payrolls: Preferred experience in managing multiple payrolls.
- Benefits Administration: Experience in administering benefits, including pensions and salary schemes.
- HR System Utilization: Experience in utilizing and improving the HR Management System.
- Statutory and Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements related to payroll and benefits.
- TUPE Legislation: Understanding of TUPE legislation.
- Technical Skills: Excellent numerical, written, and analytical skills.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail.
- Microsoft Office: Skilled user of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills and ability to consistently hit deadlines.
